Mercado Libre and Amazon
One code per variation. Download it and paste it on the listing.
Mercado Libre wants the EAN-13
In the universal code, EAN, or GTIN field, paste the 13 digits. One per variation. That is how most listings publish.
Amazon wants a GTIN
One unique GTIN per variation covers the listing. UPC or EAN of the same code. Paste and publish. Amazon Brand Registry, if they want GS1 membership in your name, is bought at GS1, not in this pack.
To list, paste the GTIN.
The GTIN is the UPC or EAN on the listing. Paste it and publish. If you send stock to FBA, Amazon gives you the FNSKU after. Brand Registry is not in this pack: that GS1 membership is bought at GS1.
When you need a new code
A new identifier
- A different size if it is inventoried separately (S, M, L)
- Color, flavor, or scent sold separately
- A different pack size (250 ml and 500 ml)
- A model sold as a different product
The same identifier
- The same SKU with another photo or title
- A repack that does not change the product
- The price, which lives on the listing
- A reprint of the same label
Shopify, eBay, and your own store
The number is an identifier. Shopify takes it as the product GTIN. eBay, Etsy, and Google Shopping usually want a unique code per variation. An independent POS loads it the same way.
